Malala's story is incredible - her bravery in telling this story to begin with; her fight for girls' rights to an education; her recovery against all odds. It's hard to fathom that so many young women around the world never get a chance at an education.

On the other hand, I didn't find the majority of this book particularly compelling because so much was pure history. I knew the basic premise going in and while I appreciate history and context, I wanted more about her experience with the shootin
