Since her near fatal attack by the Taliban, Malala has proved her status as an international icon of peace and justice for all. This book does an excellent job in conveying this and her passion for wanting to make a positive difference not just in her Muslim society, but among all humans, regardless of religion. Read this for a book club at work. It feels very much like the writing of a teenager, with her co-writer jumping in to fill in historical and detailed political information. I found the background and customs of the Pashtun culture very interesting, and definitely have a better understanding of Pakistani culture as a whole.
