I chose this for a challenge, "an assigned book you hated or never finished." I have never finished any Toni Morrison because I have found her books, when I've tried them in the past, very difficult. Now, it has been many years since I've tried them and have accomplished many difficult books in that time and might find them easier now, so I may challenge myself again with another. I found this book powerful and moving, so I'm glad I chose it for this challenge.

Read for book club.
Sad and difficult story for Pecola. Glad the author chose the perspective of Claudia and an omniscient third person for the narration as it would have been harder just through Pecola’s eyes.
