Tuntuu, että mitä tylsempi kuvaus sitä parempi kirja.
Pelastusarmeija ja joku tylsä rikos, eihän siitä mitään saa irti. Mutta kuitenkin loppujen lopuksi tarinaa rakennetaan hyvin, epäilyttäviä henkilöitä on useampi ja jopa Harry tekee muutakin kuin ryyppää.
Jos Pendergast on moderni Sherlock Holmes, niin Harry Holesta tulee paikoin mieleen Columbo. Rähjäinen ja tupakkaa ketjussa polttava pohdiskelija trenssitakissaan. Tai sitten Ankardo tuo Sokalin sarjakuvaetsivä, jonka nautintona on viina, tup ...more

First of all, let me say that I received a copy of this book in a from a Goodreads First Reads giveaway. This is the first Harry Hole book I've read, and I found Hole to be a great protagonist. Gritty, human, and very real, there is something about him for every reader to relate to. The subject matter of this novel is intense and riveting. A satisfying number of twists in this plot for sure. And quite dark so I think it qualifies as "Nordic Noir"

First of all, let me state that this book was given to me in a Goodreads First Reads giveaway.
This was a fun thriller that kept you guessing throughout. Though not the best I've read in the genre, it certainly was entertaining and kept me interested. The main character, Harry Hole, was the kind of person that you couldn't help but like. Will have to check out more of this series in the future. ...more
