Alrededor de 15 años después, otra mujer llega a la vida de ambos, que se convierte en la segunda esposa de Rashid (el marido de Mariam), Layla. Todo esto ambientado en Kabul, la capital de Afganistán, país que va pasando de una guerra a otra, afectando enormemente las vidas de nuestros protagonistas.

This was an incredible book! I actually listened to it on CD and the narrator (Atossa Leoni) made it very easy to listen to and follow the story. I think reading this might be a bit difficult with all the Afghan names and places. She had the perfect accent to tell this story.
