Wow, wow, wow…I put this one off for a long time, thinking I would not enjoy it, that it would be a difficult and tedious read, that the setting and culture would be too far removed from my own and I would be unable to relate to the characters. I was so wrong. The story begged to be read. Faith and hope emanated from the bleakest of war torn lands and its people. The veiled women became my sisters, and the characters will remain in my heart and mind for months to come.

The things these women had to endure is horrid. They are the property of their husbands, the bane of their fathers existence. No respect, they are just pawns.

Otherwise, a well written story I could not put down. I wanted everyone's story to have a happily ever after ending, but that is not how life is. Gifted story teller. ...more
