I read this for the 2015 PopSugar challenge. Liked the movie better than the book and am not rushing to encourage my kids to read this though they have already seen the movie with me. I liked the action of the movie though it was nice to get inside the character's heads better with the book.

Still love this book.

The beginning and ending credits for this movie should make it clear: "If you haven't yet read the book, check it out from your library; NOW!" I am another one of those readers who can't believe I've waited so long to read the book after seeing the film adaptation. I would argue that perhaps because the author and screenwriter are eponymous, the book and movie are astoundingly similar but different in the most deliberate of ways. Honestly, you could not ask for a more perfect book. It seriously has everyone one could want from a story, condensed on to 400 pages of pure wonder. It has sword fights, giants, murders, princes, pirates, true love, princesses, revenge, plotting, humor, monsters, and so much more. To me, this is the perfect book. If you have only seen the movie and are afraid that the book is different, do not fear. They are almost the exact same. I just loved everything about this book. It's beautiful.
