I read this for the 2015 PopSugar challenge. Liked the movie better than the book and am not rushing to encourage my kids to read this though they have already seen the movie with me. I liked the action of the movie though it was nice to get inside the character's heads better with the book. ...more

I don't think I have ever simultaneously loved and hated a book. Until now. I loved reading the story of a movie I know so well, especially when there are so many direct lines from the book in the movie. I loved the little extras in the story and how it was so sarcastically funny. I hated the author's running commentary throughout the book. Honestly, you could not ask for a more perfect book. It seriously has everyone one could want from a story, condensed on to 400 pages of pure wonder. It has sword fights, giants, murders, princes, pirates, true love, princesses, revenge, plotting, humor, monsters, and so much more. To me, this is the perfect book. If you have only seen the movie and are afraid that the book is different, do not fear. They are almost the exact same. I just loved everything about this book. It's beautiful. ...more

A fun read. You become fascinated with the tale of buttercup and wesley. There's romance, pirated , adventure , death and giants. Its an adventure froim the minute you turn a page. A truly fun book that should be read whether your an adult or child. ...more
