I thoroughly enjoyed this version of Alice in Wonderland. The actual text is the same as the other one I read, but this one has introduction, notes, footnotes, endnotes, questions, and many other things that help understand the nonsense a little. I still think the best part of the book IS the nonsense ... We're all mad here. Just love the fun. Alice in Wonderland is definitely more fun than Through the Looking Glass, which seems to be a running commentary on some old nursery rhymes. ...more

Delightful edition ... I thought at first it was a condensed version for kids, but upon checking it out thoroughly (and reading it) I found that it is the same as the other edition, except it doesn't have all the notes and introductions, etc. A lot of great illustrations (also the same as in my other edition) and lots of fun.

This book is good, sheer nonsense! I'm sure there are some good truths to be found in its pages; my favorite is "we're all mad here". Life is, in face, a merry-go-round of o

Fun, funny and fanciful. I love Alice's struggle to maintain civility in such absurd settings, as well as her choice to toss all manners out the window when things are just too strange. An excellent example of character development through inner dialogue. ...more
