This was a very insightful book, especially as a former teacher of children with special needs, many who had autism. I saw my former students repeatedly in my mind while reading this book and it's a book I think every educator or therapist working with children on the autism spectrum would find interesting and helpful in gaining a better understanding of their students. This book was written by a severely autist 13 yo Japanese boy. It was originally written in Japanese. In it Naoki answers questions about the ASD from his point of view, as well as, writes a short story to help you feel as he does; to try and impart understanding to a neurotypical human. The book was brought to the United Stats by author David Mitchell, whose son is also autistic. I was excited by the book, because I have a friend with an autistic grandson.
