This book. I loved it. I really truly felt for her, yet I felt that she was much more revered, and had a lot of followers. Yet, how would this book be received if Piper Kerman was a young, black woman? Piper Kerman is no Nelson Mandela. She didn't even serve her full 15 month sentence. She served 13 months and got a TV show and book deal out of it. It feels like through this book, rather it be an expose, is being glamorized. Prison isn't glamorous. Read this for Book Club. I am looking forward to the discussion. I saw the first season of the TV series. The book gives us an glimpse of the life in a women's prison and how many women's wrong choices put them there. Brave of Piper to let us in on her experiences and wrong turns in her life.

Nothing remotely close to the netflix series, but still and enjoying and insightful read about women's prison.
