I am not a big fan of thrillers ... this one grabbed me at the beginning. A man suddenly goes blind and then there is an inexplicable outbreak of blindness - it is a wild thought. The fear of those who were not blind fearing they would lose their sight at any moment. But, I just plan didn't like the twists and turns. Not a great vision of humanity. The book made me anxious without delivering. Finally, the ending - too easy.

Apocalypse story or deep parable? It's both. Lots to learn and speculate about what things mean. Definitely worth the read.

This book was very well written and engaging, but about halfway through became too distressing for me to keep reading. The graphic descriptions of violent situations were more than I could take, but I'd recommend for anyone with a stronger constitution.
