What Members Thought

There is no doubt that Amy Poehler is one of the few stars in the business who is truly talented, clever, and deserving of her fame. This book is proof of that. Like some other reviewers suggested, however, I wasn't as charmed or drawn in to her anecdotes as much as I have been by other similar comedic collections. Poehler notes her inspiration from other female entertainers turned authors like Tina Fey, Mindy Kaling, Lena Dunham, et al, but Poehler also goes on to note that it was a struggle fo

I was really on the fence about getting this book. I appreciate Upright Citizens Brigade, Saturday Night Live, and Parks and Recreation. Not a super fan, but I do like the women of comedy. I feel similarly about Tina Fey, and I did like her book Bossypants. Other people compare it to Bossypants (which I loved) and to Mindy Kaling's Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? I would recommend the audio book.

I like Amy Poehler. I find her cute, and funny, and she makes me laugh. This book did the same. As an added bonus, the audio book includes guest appearances from Seth Meyers, Patrick Stewart, Carol Burnett, and more. Throughout the book Amy entertains with amusing stories filled with honesty, humor and life lessons learned. I admire her optimistic a

This book really blew my socks off. It fell into my lap just as I needed it. I was really impressed with Amy Poehler's voice and her subject matter. This book wasn't just a memoir, it was a self help book, it was a comedy book, it was inspirational without being preachy. I could have done without the self deprecating preface, but the whole book was a work of genius. I hope she pits out a second one.
