This book is so fascinating! I can't even imagine how laborious of a task it was to initially create the OED. The amount of people and the slips of paper to make this monstrosity is actually mind-boggling. The madman was seriously looney and I loved hearing about the part he had in the creation of the dictionary and really just his life, in general. I never thought of the work that went in to the dictionary until this read. Simon Winchester put it all in perspective, and did it in a way that did not bore me. I loved the way he told the story, focusing on the main editor and a major contributor and how they were brought together. There were a few spots rather dragged, but all in all this was an interesting read!
