So let's be honest, I only read this because it was J.K Rowling who wrote it. Don't get me wrong, I do like a good mystery but they're never the first books I'll choose, as I'm particularly fussy about them. I hate being able to guess the murderer too soon.

Ich glaube, die Geschichte würde mir gefallen, aber ich werde immer wieder durch die furchtbar komplizierten und verschachtelten Sätze aufgehalten. Wieso kann sie kein einziges Adjektiv auslassen und beschreibt dauernd die Gegend und die Menschen, die dann für die Geschichte überhaupt nicht wichtig sind?
am Schluss...
Für meinen Geschmack war es zu langsam und zu zähflüssig, auch wenn mir Strike und Robin als Figuren gefallen haben.
Ich glaube, die Geschichte würde mir gefallen, aber ich werde immer wieder durch die furchtbar komplizierten und verschachtelten Sätze aufgehalten. After starting and dropping this book so many times, I finally finished it! I have to say that I'm completely blown away with the idea that JK Rowling can write my favourite series about a boy wizard and flip gears to this.
This was a very strongly written crime novel that had me guessing right until the end. The characters were well written and by the end of this book I was, and am eager to pick up the next one. There was so many things I just hadn't been expecting all through this which kept th ...more

I thoroughly enjoyed this. The characters were wonderfully written and colorful and the ending is definitely something I didn't see coming. Great first steps into the mystery genre and I can't wait to see how the next book goes :)
