I read this to see what the hubbub was about. This book has a huge waiting list at my library. I went in cold, no reviews and no idea what it was about. It's very readable. Great storytelling trance. I pounded it out in less than two days and found myself regretting that I couldn't get back to it. It's a thriller and I normally do not read thrillers, and there were some times I wanted to reach into the book and smack some of the characters. Some of it is believable when you read it, but then whe

I really enjoyed this book, a few people had recommended it to me as they thought it would be right up my street knowing the types of books I read a lot of. The story centres around three women and is told alternately from their points of view. The primary storyteller is Rachel, she is the girl on the train. Anna is her nemesis of sorts, her ex-husband's new wife and mother of his child. Anna has it in for Rachel and thinks she is trying to ruin their marriage, which in the past had been true bu

This isn't terrible, but it just wasn't for me. I couldn't handle the gaslighting, manipulation, and abuse. Three and three quarters stars? A great page-turner up until about the last quarter of the novel, when the pacing started to drag for me. I know some people don't like this book because none of the main characters seem terribly likeable, and they don't, but that didn't bother me. Very good summer read.

2.5, closer to 3 maybe? I don't know. Definitely a slow paced "mystery" (and I say "mystery" because I figured out the who-dunnit early.) Still better than Gone Girl, though. I think.

A bit slow in the middle, but did have me guessing until the end. Reminded me of Gone Girl - and left me feeling the same way - with no one really remarkable to root for in the end.
