This book took me over a week and a half to read, which for me, is rather a long time. But it felt so important and was so filled with history and people I'd heard only a little about that I researched probably as much as I read the book. Until I read this book, I never fully understood heroic brilliance of Nelson Mandela. Most young people look up to American figures such as presidents or even civil rights activists, but it is important to also explore the significance of international peace makers like Nelson Mandela and his impact on not only South Africa, but the entire world.
