I got a quarter of the way into it before I came to terms with how much I hated it. I was doing that thing when you're bored with a book, where I read a paragraph, then spaced out and thought about anything that wasn't the book. It was painful. Also, possibly the shittiest female characters I've ever read, in any book from the last three centuries. Ugh.

This book is divided into 4 sections. I can't remember and didn't make a note, but at approximately the middle of the book the story really started dragging, and I found it hard to push through those parts. This encompassed anywhere from 25% to 33% of the book and is why this book is getting only 3 instead of 4 stars from me.
The first section reminds me a lot of the Disney movie, The Sword in the Stone, but with better writing, greater detail, and more twists.
