This was an insanely clever novel. Two mysteries within one story from the point of view of a woman with alzheimer's...wow. I was enthralled by the story and the perspective. I felt just as confused as Maud and tried to put the story together right along with her. This was a great read. ...more

Is Elizabeth missing? Maud is suffering from loss: loss of her sister, loss of her parents. loss of her husband, loss of her friend...loss of her mind! As the reader, you will experience the last one quite profoundly. Even though you think you are on top of things, you will find that you get lost in the here and now so easily. Emma Healey has really written a winner in this story of Maud and her search for closure.
