I wanted to love Bitterblue as much as I adored Graceling and Fire, but it wasn't quite to that level for me. I still enjoyed it, but it lacked some of the excitement and romance of Graceling and was much more of a mystery. I did like finding out more about what happened to Bitterblue after the events of Graceling and it was nice to see the reappearance of Katsa and Po (although not enough for me). I would still love to see Kristin Cashore write another book specifically about them. I felt that ...more

2.5 stars.

I really hoped that re-reading Graceling and Fire would have helped me enjoy this more. And it did, but not as much as I was hoping. The beginning of this story was just TOO MUCH "stuff". It seemed to drag on and on and was very boring. Thankfully the last third of the book picked up and the ending had some action, but overall it just couldn't make up for such a boring, long and tedious beginning.
