What an amazing book. First of all, it's about a golem and a jinni ... fantasty creatures, which give the book an "other-worldly" essence. Then, it's set in New York City during a time of major immigration, and gives us a realistic view of society there at that time. And amidst all this mixture of reality and fantasy, the book poses questions that are really interesting to contemplate: creation, gender roles, purpose in life, inherent characteristics (can we change them). Consumed as an audiobook. Somewhat tragic, but so good. Universal recommendation.
