Wow. So amazingly real and also well written. Alzheimer's is a heart breaking disease.

Dolly Reading Challenge 2015: a book that made you cry (ok, I didn't REALLY cry, but I don't usually cry over books and this was about as close as I come. It did break my heart though so I'm counting it!)

Alice wonders, am I just stressed, over tired, menopausal...or do I have more serious issues. When Alice is diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, we see and feel her distress and confusion and determination. An excellent book; but it makes one evaluate our own forgetful episodes more carefully. ...more

I liked the perspective that the author chose to tell this story. This was a hard book for me to read as my Nana had Alzheimer's and i am terrified of getting it myself. I lived at my Nana's house as a teenager and witnessed the onset of the disease, though we didn't recognize it at the time - not until it got much worse.
This book allowed me to gain insight into the progression from the sufferers point of view and I found it fascinating and disturbing at the same time.

I just finished this and I can't stop thinking about it. I don't think I have ever cried so much with a book. I feel restless right, wanting others to read it so they can know how I feel about the book and how scary early onset Alzheimer's or any form if the disease is. I can't imagine losing all parts of yourself. ...more

This is a first hand account of a person with Alzheimer’s disease. I found this book to be "important." It increased my compassion for those who have the disease - making me think of how I treat people who have this disease and other mental debilitating diseases. I will remember Alice for a long time. ...more
