I have been loving this book since p. 1. (Dec 2015).
I'm having trouble keeping track of the characters, though the Cast page at the start helps, and I keep adding notes to it.
Much more when I'm done. It will be awhile.

Up to p. 239. I stalled out a few times, but still loving it. It moves soooo slowly, but wondrously. It's providing all sorts of inspiration and technique for my gay soldiers' book, too.

a truly amazing read. there are certainly a lot of characters to remember and follow as you read this book.
I did like kitty , she was my stand out character which surprised me. I loved all the little postscript notes at the bottom of the page , especially the French .

I was surprised by this classic. It was not at all what I had expected.
For me it was a metaphysical debate hung on the frame of a soap opera. It was the last few chapters that were the most compelling for me. I listened to this on Audible and Maggie Gyllenhaal performance was outstanding. She was so skillful in distinguishing the large cast of characters. I highly recommend the audio book. I am happy that I also own the paperback as well, there are chapters that I would like to reread and to an ...more
