I'm usually a fan of John Green's novels, but I'm kind of disappointed by "Paper Towns".
The writing itself is beautiful and quotable as usual, but the formula is very much the same as "Looking for Alaska": nice/nerdy boy falls for unattainable girl, girl leaves in one way or another, boy learns life lesson. "Looking for Alaska" is one of my favourite novels, so to see such a similar premise kind of made it feel cheap.

There were a lot of parts that I enjoyed about this book. The biggest part, was how captivating the book was. I really did not want to put the book down, and wanted to know what happened next. The other part of the book that I loved was how funny it was, especially the ending. Another thing that I enjoyed about the book is the comparisons and analogies that John Green had throughout the book. I finished reading Paper Towns over the weekend, and I have to be honest, I never heard of this book before. The main reason: there’s so many books out there! But when I saw that the author, John Green, was the same author as the book I genuinely enjoyed (TFIOS), I grabbed it without hesitation.

Great read! At times, I felt the characters were a little too similar to those in "Looking for Alaska". I do highly recommend, though! 4.5
