What an adventure! I am pretty sure normal high school seniors don't have badass mysteries to unravel and road trips like this, but it whimisical and funny and utterly engaging!

Second book in a row where Walt Whitman's "Leaves of Grass" plays a role. It is bigger in this one though. I had heard that this is similar to Green's first couple books and I see that in a way. I don't think Margo is as broken as Alaska. The darkness is not as deep. There are some comedic moments and I did laugh out loud a couple of times. Good for teen boys and girls so that is always a plus.

I am normally a huge John Green fan. This book did not hold my attention as much as his previous books. The characters were a little boring and dull, even the protagonists Margo. I didn't hate this book, I just think his other books were better written.
There is some adult topics, like underage drinking, and teenage rage. Based on that it would not be good for middle school aged readers ...more

Great read! At times, I felt the characters were a little too similar to those in "Looking for Alaska". I do highly recommend, though! 4.5
