I need to read the third book. NOW.

There is something wrong with the mists.

This is the second book in the Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson, so this may have some spoilers for Book 1.

At the end of Book 1, Vin defeated the Lord Ruler. Before he died, he warned Vin that by killing him, she released a dark force in the world. Book 2 begins one year after the events of Book 1 and most of the conflict was about the armies that were outside Luthadel that wanted to invade it. In the middle of t I need to read the third book. NOW.

At the end of Book 1, Vin defeated the Lord Ruler. Before he died, he warned Vin that by killing him, she released a dark force in the world. Book 2 begins one year after the events of Book 1 and most of the conflict was about the armies that were outside Luthadel that wanted to invade it. In the middle of trying to keep the kingdom safe, guarding King Elend Venture, and sniffing out spies, Vin also feels that the mists are acting weird. She believes this is what the Lord Ruler warned her about. She is seeing things and feeling things that others can’t. She wonders if keeping Elend and Luthadel safe is really the most important thing for her to do, or if she should follow her instincts and look for the source of the thumping only she can sense.

I loved this! It still has the same amazing storytelling that keeps me really engrossed in the world. I didn’t have time to take notes or even have any moments where I felt like I had to force myself to read, unlike some other books. Elend’s political stuff was a little annoying, but I don’t think it was ever at the point where it felt truly dragging… This is added to my new favorite series and it has cemented Brandon Sanderson as one of my favorite authors.

Random notes on some characters:
- My favorite character is Sazed. He is so unexpected. He does a lot of important things but always stays humble.
- Breeze is someone I’ve grown to really like! There’s a little more explanation of his character here and I really liked it.
- I want Tindwyl to have her own makeover show! “You are still a fool, Elend Venture–you just don’t look like one anymore.”
- Straff is a great villain here. Love to hate that guy. (view spoiler)

This series is a must-read for fantasy fans, or readers who want to start getting into fantasy. Highly recommend it! ...more

Me gustó más que el 1. Aunque está cerca de las 5 estrellas, hay cosillas que no me fascinaron, como el romance adolescente entre Vin y Elend.

Es difícil hablar de un segundo libro sin dar spoilers del primero, así que seré conciso:

Me gusta el protagonismo que va ando Sazed, no es mi parte favorita, pero igual vale la pena todo el tinte político en prácticamente medio libro, igual la forma en que la historia de lo que pasó hace mil años con Alendi sigue siendo un misterio y se va descubriendo poc ...more
