Honestly, and believe me on this: I wanted to like it so bad. I wanted to. I tried. I kept telling myself "something will happen, and I'll like it more later! The writing will get better, the characters will redeem themselves, I'll like it. Something magical will happen and I'll fall in love with it and I won't have wasted my time reading this novel."

I literally just finished this book and I am unsure how I feel about it. It was so deeply disturbing that I don't think it would be right to say I "liked it", but at the same time the writing was so intense that I was completely drawn in and had a hard time putting it down - doesn't that mean I "liked it", if not "really liked it"? This book has definitely left me with mixed feelings.

Such fun. kept me guessing.
Wow. Just. Wow. Extraordinarily well written. But every character is completely despicable and I didn't find myself rooting for any of them. But it takes a grand writer, I think, to make me hate a bunch of people so completely.
