I loved it and will come back to read it again. Of course it is long, but wasn't difficult for me to get into and speeds up in the second half due to the golden spiral structure. In fact, I almost felt--almost--that the end wrapped up too quickly; after so much lovely ado it seemed like a bit of a cheat to mince words, but I also respect Catton's adherence to form.

I'm no expert in astrology, but I also don't think you need to be to enjoy this book as some have implied. Adding astrological signs ...more
