It was such a beautiful and moving story. I honestly didn't know what to expect since I bought the book the moment I saw it and it was on sale. I loved it much more than the Catcher in the Rye. Maybe because it was more relate-able than CITR. I'm not sure, but it was beautiful.

Wow, what a roller coaster of a book. I have never seen the movie, so I cannot compare the two.
This book deals with some pretty mature topics including a teen suicide, drug and alcohol use and even sexual abuse. Based on that I would caution any parent from having a child read it if they aren't willing to have some serious discussions with their child about these adult topics.
I am not sure how to describe this book. It grabs you and doesn't let go. The topics are not for the faint of heart.

I really love this novel. I've seen the movie a billion times and it has an extremely special place in my heart but for some reason, I never read the book. I received it for Christmas and while I love the movie the same, this has just a special of a place. While I'm a social butterfly and 22, I fully understood Charlie. All the feels! Charlie's letters to an unnamed friend are an emotuonal rollercoaster, cheering for him while crying for his sadness. The other characters feel real, with real situations and real reactions to what is occuring in their lives. All of them have their flaws but our flaws are what make us unique and human, right?
