Good, compelling story on the one hand, and easy to relate to, since I am also a wallflower, but too angsty, lots of awkward prose, and generally left me feeling incomplete--even though there is a conclusion and an epilogue. Although to some extent I could see the ending coming, it hit me like a M. Night Shyamalan plot twist, and I didn't like that.

If not for this being a book club pick, I would not have read it, nor would I have finished it. The issues are real for kids today, but I didn't really care too much about the main character, though I tried.

Great book. Written by 'Charlie' in letter format to an anonymous friend. Sex, drugs and sexual content is throughout. I am a big fan of challenged and banned books but would only recommend this to mature young adult audiences. There are some heavy discussion topics that may only be appropriate for the mature 16 year old.
