What Members Thought
Cal narrates the story of three generations of the Stephanides family, the last being his own. We travel from Turkey to the US, learning the hardships and triumphs without and within the family. It is a view of how the choices of parents and grandparents greatly affect the outcome: the children.
The second half of the story focuses on Calliope/Cal and his unique journey of self-discovery, his transition from female to male and coming to terms with his condition.
