In 2012, I made the weird goal of finding a book that would make me cry because it was that emotionally moving. I read sad story after sad story after sad story; trying to find the book that would bring me to tears, but none of them succeeded in doing so (Stephen King's Joyland had me choked up, but there were no tears).

In many ways, this was an excellent book. In many ways it also really p****d me off. I study literature and you wouldn't catch me dead walking around quoting 'The lovesong of J. I must say I really enjoyed this book. It was written very well and did not drag out the way many stories can. Let's face it, it's a book about two kids with cancer. It's very sad but at the same time there are parts and words to be celebrated. Looking forward to reading more by this author.
