What Members Thought

I'm two years late to the Fault In Our Stars party but am so glad my friends and family pushed me to read it. Any book that can make me cry = auto 5 stars, but I'm not left feeling depressed. I found it clever, funny, touching and inspiring. I won't forget it.

So sad. My eyes are all puffy this morning because of this book.

Great easy book with lots of emotional pull! I started to read the end of the novel on an airplane...big mistake. I had to stop reading otherwise I would have just bawled in front of lots of strangers.
Green really showed the emotions of a teenager; I remember having those same thoughts. He was able to show that even though these young adults had devastating diseases, they still had the same thoughts about life that a lot of other teens have.

I loved this book. Many times I am amazed at the adult topics YA books cover. The basics of this book is 2 kids with Cancer meet and fall in love. That is about all of the spoilers you will get from me.
The book is well written. Many people have commented that teens don't talk like the ones in the book. My 2 children (ages 17 & 20) are very much like the teens in the book.
I would recommend this book to anyone high school age and up. ...more

I'm not sure about this book. I heard it was AMAZING, and while it was a good book, I simply cannot use that word to describe it. It really was good, but I feel like I was shoved off a cliff when there was still a long road ahead of me. I guess that was kind of the point though. I love love LOVED Augustus Waters, he was a great supporting character.

Although I predicted so much of this novel, I was able to enjoy it. Predictability is beside the point. Given that there is very little element of surprise in this plot, I have to give props to John Green for making me as sad as he did. Since it was loved by so many readers, I suppose I expected more from it, but I wasn't disappointed by what I got.

If reincarnation was ever real, it happened to John Green. How he's able to write from a teenage girl's view perfectly, is lovely.
I had some little issues but nothing to say less than 5 stars worth.
As a best friend to someone who passed away of Osteosarcoma, John really hit the nail on the head.
Three cheers for John! ...more
