What I really loved about this book was that even though cancer was the giant overhanging theme, there was so much more to it than that. Teenage love is hard enough without adding a terminal disease onto it.
Normally, I would not be a fan of the non-teenage way that Hazel and Augustus converse with each other, because it just takes it out of a realm of possibility for me. I had this one for a few months and took advantage of being able to use it for a reading challenge. I have enjoyed everything written by Mr. Green. It was not entirely as depressing as I thought it may be going into it. Hazel and Augustus are both likeable characters and they did not seem forced. I was touched emotionally, though I did not cry. I sensed it may happen while I was reading at school so I took a break.

I'm not sure about this book. I heard it was AMAZING, and while it was a good book, I simply cannot use that word to describe it. It really was good, but I feel like I was shoved off a cliff when there was still a long road ahead of me. I guess that was kind of the point though. I love love LOVED Augustus Waters, he was a great supporting character.

Although I predicted so much of this novel, I was able to enjoy it. Predictability is beside the point. Given that there is very little element of surprise in this plot, I have to give props to John Green for making me as sad as he did. Since it was loved by so many readers, I suppose I expected more from it, but I wasn't disappointed by what I got.
