Since the movie is a cult classic that most people will have probably seen before reading the book, the answer is yes. Yes, this book is every bit as bright, humorous, and entertaining as the film. Like the movie, the book is full of witty dialogue and perfect one-liners. And, in keeping with the theme, the movie and book both host a full assortment of colorful characters that are either instantly lovable or enjoyably revolting. Okay so I love love LOVE everything about this story, Wesley and Buttercup and Inigo and Fezzik....pure gold.

What I did not enjoy was everything else before and after the story. I know, I know, Goldman set out to be tricksy and Morganstern doesn't really exist and all the preface and the epilogue is completely made up. I commend him for pulling the wool over a lot of people's eyes. Clever, clever. But where my interest really lay was in the Princess Bride story itself, so I really didn't care fo
