I've read many books on wwII but somehow this author managed to present me with vastly different perspectives. I was constantly dazzled and charmed by the beauty of the sentences in this book. Stunned by the depth of detail. I loved this book so much that halfway through I slowed down so that I could savour the experience and delay the inevitable ending.
