This was a captivating book ... telling the story of the German Nazi regime and Jewish holocaust from the viewpoint of a young girl, who steals books in order to survive. The book USES the power of words to express the power of words. There is humor, and great sadness ... but also struggle, hope, and victory. This book broke my heart but filled it, it was a joy to read but left me with sorrow. I'll write the full review when I can sort out my feeling for it.

I tried reading this book once and couldn't get passed the first chapter. When I heard a movie was about to come out, I picked it up yo read again. Although it was sad about a little girl having to live with people she didn't know and hiding of a Jew from the Nazi's, I really liked the ending.

I just finished listening to The Book Thief on audio and immediately I said "wow!". Loved it! Author did an awesome job portraying the raw emotion felt by the characters during such a horrible time of Nazi Germany during WWII. It was a beautiful story of courage, strength, and family. The narrator was Death which adds a interesting perspective on life and death. This is being added to my favorites. Now, I know that the movie was out not too long ago but I'm not sure if I will see it or not. It m
