Nyrie said this book was boring. Don't believe her. I loved this book immeasurably. It is heart-rendingly written.
I'm very partial to books about the human experience of WWII but that is by no means a surefire route to a successful book. The Kommandant's girl was dull, droll and vapid by comparison. Best book I have read this week (including Harry) ...more

Wow. I wasn't sure I would like this book, but decided to read it since it had such good reviews. It was different, entertaining, and heartbreaking all at the same time. Loved the writing style. This story will stay with me for a long time. I intend to explore additional works by this author.
