This is a great read. Easily one of my favorite books, up there with A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. The characters are so easy to relate to and you finished the book feeling like you know the people you just read about. Not just a little about them but truly know them. This book just goes to show how powerful words are. I'm glad I bought this so I can just keep going back to parts and reading it. If I could give this more than five stars, I would. ...more

an interesting twist on a storyline set in a time where many others have gone. I was initially not a fan of the story being told by death, but the idea grew on me. I found the characters lacking in development, and like we never really got to know them. I did cry at the end. overall, an okay book. not one I'd read again ...more
