As the number eight is a powerful magical number on Discworld, men born as the eighth son of an eighth son are naturally wizards. Eighth son of an eight son of an eight son (a wizard squared) is a source of magic... a Sourcerer. This nearly put me off STP altogether. He's wrote better stories and had far better characters with exceptional storylines. While I re-read Pratchett regularly as he's good for a laugh, this one I avoid.
