Wyrd Sisters is an amazing mixture of Terry Pratchett's world and Shakespeare, and a true opening for Granny Weatherwax. One of my favorite characters. And there is Nanny Ogg and Magrat. My favourite so far in the Discworld series. Ironically, being influenced by two of Shakespeare's tragedies, it follows the patterns of a lot of his comedies. Full of wit and dramatic irony, Wyrd Sisters pokes fun at royal stereotypes, theatre, our ideas of magic and even taxes.
All of the characters are so well drawn, and you can tell that Pratchett was really coming into his stride in this book. I recommend it to anyone that is having a bad day and needs a laugh. Simply wonderful. ...more
