Listened to in audio format.
This is the fourth book I have to listened to by Gilly Macmillan.
The storyline grabbed me but because the story flipped constantly between the original murder in 1996 and the present day I found it difficult to follow. I don't know if the printed book had the relevant time period but my audio did not.
I liked how the author skilfully weaved in the Cody Swift podcasts in between the story of the original murder imvestigation.

11 year old Charlie Page and Scott Ashby were murdered 20 years ago in Bristol. A dead body is found in the same location. Are the 2 murders linked? Detective John Fletcher needs to know. Cody Swift, friend of the 2 boys, is now a film maker and he has a podcast to help find some answers. The story is told by using his podcast and flashbacks. There are definitely trigger warnings for lots of things, including drug and alcohol use and abuse, murder, child neglect/potential abuse, and animal abuse/death.
That being said, this was an okay thriller. I liked the audiobook, particularly the multiple narrators and the portions of the book that we're audiobook format.
