It’s over! And make no mistake, whatever I may say here about Dreams of Gods & Monsters, it was a good book, and the trilogy as a whole is a series I would heartily recommend. But in terms of expectations, I think I may have placed all my eggs in one basket. I went into this with hopes for the ending of all endings, which is unfair of me perhaps, but I desperately wanted back the magic I first experienced in Daughter of S ...more

Dreams of Gods & Monsters is the third and last book in the Daughter of Smoke & Bone series by Laini Taylor. This audiobook is narrated by Khristine Hvam.
This review is going to be a bit difficult to write. Dreams of Gods & Monsters was my most anticipated audiobook of the year and although it was everything I was expecting it to be and more it wasn’t perfect, but at the same time its imperfections didn’t bother me nor did they diminish my enjoymen ...more

4.5 stars - I really liked this.
I finally (finally!) Finished listening to Dreams of Gods & Monsters, it was eighteen hours of listening since it is over six hundred pages of print. I have to admit though that I cruised the quotes for this so I had a spoiler that helped prepare me for one part. I the story even though there was one spot where it could have ended - it would have been a cliffhanger though and the real ending was better. I really liked this series and hated knowing that it would end with this book. The first half of the book kept me on the edge of my chair. I liked seeing how Karou and Akiva got their factions to work together against their common enemies. I loved that Karou let Akiva in on her biggest secret because it gave them hope that maybe, someday, if they lived, there could be a possibility for them.
I loved how Zuzana showed time and time again that Karou could depend on her, that she would be there for ...more

I took a really long time with this book than usual, but the last few weeks were crazy ones. I always looked forward to my alone time when I could come back to the book though.
I love this whole series, and I'm awed by how the story has evolved since the first book. This is one of those books that I think I'll love re-reading, and that I'll love more the more I re-read.
