I will be honest... the writing style at first was offputting, but I forced myself to push on since this was a book club selection. I am glad I stuck with it. Once I realized why it was written the way it was (and who was the narrator), I was hooked. I do tend to enjoy novels set in historical times, and I thought this one was especially interesting as we followed Liesel through her life. I would certainly recommend this book.
