What can I even say. This book. I had my ups and downs with the story, a few moments being pulled in and out of the plot but then the last 30% of the book happened what is my life. I am destroyed emotionally and am SO GLAD I finally read this book! 4.75 stars.

I haven’t read much historical fiction, so I figured this would be a good pick, since I wanted to read this book in July anyway. I didn’t end up finishing it for the readathon, but I’m glad about that. It’s the kind of book that you need to take your time with. ...more

The story was pretty good. It follows a young girl named Liesel for about 4 years or so, through World War 2. She steals books, goes through trauma's with the war, and makes a Jewish friend. Death narrates the story and follows her. I thought it was a tad bit too long. But other than that I liked it!
