My poor heart. This book is everything.

Original review

Sorry I saw the movie before reading the book. I listened to this on audio. I felt the movie was very true to the book. The book was a bit drawn out. I did not cry as I knew what was going to happen. Would recommend to anyone who likes historical fiction about WWII.

I initially chose to read it because so many people said it was their favorite book, and because I needed to find a book that was out of my comfort zone for the readathon I was doing. I haven’t read much historical fiction, so I figured this would be a good pick, since I wanted to read this book in July anyway. I didn’t end up finishing it for the readathon, but I’m glad about that. It’s the kind of book that you need to take your time with. ...more
