Wow, I really loved this book! It just gripped me and I could hardly put it down. At first I wasn't sure I was going to get into it, but once I got past the first 20 pages then it was smooth sailing. The characters are so real - they have flaws, but that's part of what makes them who they are. It wasn't a predictable story. There was definitely stuff that I didn't see coming. Sorry I saw the movie before reading the book. I listened to this on audio. I felt the movie was very true to the book. The book was a bit drawn out. I did not cry as I knew what was going to happen. Would recommend to anyone who likes historical fiction about WWII.

A brilliant fictional story in the time of Nazi Germany. The story is cleverly narrated through the eyes of Death himself. This story is one that will leave you in awe. It is hard for me to even pick up another book to read right now because this one touched me so deeply. The ending brought tears to my eyes. This book is a MUST READ!!
