Now, this is one of my most favorite book series that I had ever had the pleasure of reading. It was the first book series I actually read, and they are the reason why I grew to become such a bookworm and now not a day goes by without reading a book. So, this is a book very dear to me.

I will just say that this book has everything one might want from

Now, this is one of my most favorite book series that I had ever had the pleasure of reading. It was the first book series I actually read, and they are the reason why I grew to become such a bookworm and now not a day goes by without reading a book. So, this is a book very dear to me.

I will just say that this book has everything one might want from a book. Werewolves, fae, vampires, demons. It's just all connected to each other. Mrs. Clare crafted a world from scratch using already existing creatures but she made them hers, she owned them, she didn't just borrow the legends and the myths, she went ahead and threw in many details of her own craft and that's fantastic. Mrs. Clare has a knack for story-telling. Having read most of her books by now I can only say that she's an exceptional author and one of my favorites.

This book follows Clary as she is forced to learn that she's a Shadowhunter - a human with a tad bit angel blood who are those who kill the demons that jump from other realms and planets to Earth. Now a Shadowhunter has a stele (a wand of sorts) that can draw runes upon their own skin that enhance certain abilities depending on which rune they draw, a normal human cannot draw it upon their skin because boom, you'll turn Forsaken. There's also the fact that the Shadowhunters are invinsible when they want to, they live in the Shadows, hence the Shadowhunter thing and do their job silently. - when her mother is abducted by a supposedly dead villain Shadowhunter. That's when she & her best friend Simon meet three Shadowhunter: Jace, Isabelle & Alec.

There is so much urban fantasy in this. The way it's written, the way it's narrated, it is all so familiar and so dark and so urban and I can't help feeling like reading the lore.

Jace is my favorite human being. If you're into snarky, sharp male protagonists then this one is for you. Clary is an amazing lead and I feel grateful for her ability to handle just about everything without turning mental, she is practical and can be a little bitchy when she needs to. She's perfect. Simon, our nerdy nerd, I love his little dweeb ass. He & Clary are inseparable. Alec & Isabelle, our lovely brothers. Isabelle is a true femme fatale, she'll twist and turn you and kill you if needs be & Alec is a big softie disguised as a strong man.

The characters are the backbone of this series, except for the plot which rocks, the characters are so capturing and so endlessly fun & intriguing, I could just read about them the entire day and not mind at all.

I've heard lots of negative things about this book and about this series but I'm one of those that love it to death so I can't really say I'm objective. Thanks for reading this. ...more

Pues pues pues... por donde empezar? Me ha gustado mucho la narrativa que ha llevado la autora durante todo el libro, ya que me ha tenido atrapada. Los personajes están muy bien construidos, aunque pienso que Alec e Isabelle han dejado de tener importancia en el libro, y es una pena. Jace... bueno, es Jace. Y Clary, no sé por qué, me ha caído un poco mal. Lo que me ha chirriado durante todo el libro son los comportamientos de los protas. Señores, tienen 15 años... plis.
