I'm actually giving this 3.5 stars as it starts with a bang and ends with a whimper. I was all-in even if the character weren't well developed (hard to do in a less than 200 page middle grade read), the plot seemed like it was on its way. That is until Jonas and The Giver start in on the plan, which didn't seem like much of a plan at all. I really wish I hadn't watched the movie first because I would have enjoyed it a lot more but I still enjoyed this book a lot. This is the first book that had ever really made me think. This book made me think about the freedom of choice, the dangers of ignorance and being sheltered. I loved this book. Would have been 5 out of 5 stars had I not watched the movie first which caused me to know majority of what was going to happen. Recommended!!!!
