This could be a case of bad timing, more of a it's not you, it's me kinda thing. I usually adore historical fiction but in this case I was not as captivated as I usually am.
There wasn't anything wrong with the world building or any historical innacuracies, but there was a certain vagueness to everything as far as the background and the setting. Not too bad. A good fast paced read that kept me entertained. Actual rating: 3.5
I both liked and disliked this book. First, I will start off that the cover of this book is beautiful. I really liked the illustrations through out. It sort of added to the mysterious atmosphere of the story. The other part I liked was the relationship between Arista and Grae. He was one charming, heroic, and understanding gentleman.
